An application for a patent for floor cassette panels is now patent pending.

Innovative Structural Building Products (ISBP) (at www.isbp.com) and James Walker, PE filed a US patent application recently that extended their past technology to more specifically include floor cassettes.  Although this technology had been previously patented by ISBP, the claims are now more specifically designed to include all floor cassette systems.

Floor cassettes covered in the patent application include open (single layer) cassettes and closed (two-layer cassettes).  Floor cassettes had been previously disclosed in prior patents by James Walker.

The floor cassettes are a more efficient floor system that efficiently combine structure and sheathing in one large panel eliminating the need to build from individual joists and sheets.

Floor cassettes are often stronger and save on site labor with faster construction and no cutting or trimming required on site.

Floor cassettes are fast becoming a valuable technology for residential and light commercial construction.  Instead of piecing together a floor, the factory can make large floor panels, or cassettes, which are then craned into position to greatly increase efficiency and cut down labor and construction time.

Fast-Floor™ cassettes are one of the many technologies available from Innovative Structural Building Products including VentBoard™ ventilated sheathing, DuctBoard™ ducted floor and ceiling sheathing, PlenumPanels™ for mass timber floor and roof panels and Sure-Seat™ screws for connecting multi-layer panels.

This new patent application from ISBP includes prior material from their prior patents 8490355, 8535018, 8635822, 8615945, 9091049 and 9604428.
